Product introduction

Yeast glucan is a kind of polysaccharide, β -glucan, which exists in the yeast cell wall and has enhanced immune activity. Dextran is widely found in various fungi and plants, such as shiitake mushrooms, Ganoderma lucidum, and oat. The activity of glucan varies greatly due to different sources and structures. Studies have shown that only glucan present in Ganoderma lucidum spores and yeast cell walls has good immune activity, called 1 3 1 6 beta glucan.

The beta- (1,3) skeleton structure of yeast glucan makes it have strong immune activity. Studies have shown that the beta-1, 3-1, 6 triple helix structure is more effective in glucan, the main chain is beta (1,3) glucan, the side chain is beta (1,6) glucan, this structure is different from the linear molecular structure of common sugars, is a unique triple ultrahelix structure. Instead of being hydrolyzed into simple sugars such as glucose in the gut, these structures bind to specific receptors, and pass through the intestinal epithelium into the lymphatic system through endocytosis, and from the lymphatic system into the blood system.


History

In 1940, Dr. Pillemer discovered and reported a substance in the yeast cell wall that had the effect of strengthening immunity.

Dr. Diluzio of Tulun University found that the substance in the yeast cell wall to strengthen immunity is a kind of polysaccharide---β-glucan.

Research institutions such as Harvard University、Tulun University、Washington University and the Institute of radiobiology of the U.S. Air Force have studied and confirmed that yeast β-1,3 glucan has a targeted effect, which can directionally clear toxins in the body, and increase the phagocytic capacity of macrophages by more than 10 times. It can also make the human immune system quickly reach balance, without any toxins and side effects of drugs, effectively preventing the occurrence of various chronic diseases.

In 2009, The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved yeast β -glucan as GRAS(Food Additive Safety Indicator) food.

In 2010, The Announcement of the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China issued by the Ministry of Health No.9, 2010, identified yeast β-glucan as a new resource product.

In 2011, the European Union decision 2011/762/EU authorized the marketing of yeast beta glucan as a novel food ingredient.


Mechanism of action

The active structure of β -glucan is a polysaccharide composed of glucose units. Most of them are bound by β-1, 3, which is the way glucose chains are linked. The molecular structure of yeast β -glucan is β1,3-1, 6, which is a unique triple helix structure with stronger biological activity and stability. It can activate macrophages, neutrophils, and so on. so it can increase the content of leukocytes, cytokinins, and specific antibodies. Comprehensively stimulating the body's immune system at the same time, has a very good recovery effect on damaged cells. Then, the body is better prepared to fight off microbial-caused diseases. β -glucan can quickly restore the ability of injured lymphocytes to produce cytokines (L-1) and effectively regulate the immune function of the body.

A large number of experiments have shown that β -glucan can promote the production of IgM antibodies in vivo to improve the immune capacity of body fluids. This glucan-activated cell can activate the host's non-specific defense mechanism, so its application in various diseases, infections, and trauma has attracted great attention.
